What You’ll Need

16 Donut Holes
25 Minutes

  • 1 1/2 cup Self-Rising Flour – If unavailable, mix 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour with 2 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder (&optionally 3/8 tspn salt)
  • 1/4 cup Oil – Can be any neutral-flavored oil
  • 1 1/3 cup Pumpkin Puree – Use canned pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. Homemade puree can be used if well-drained.
  • 1 tspn Pumpkin Spices – Store-bought or make your own with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, cloves
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar – Light or dark brown sugar works. Coconut sugar is a good alternative for a less refined option.

For coating:

  • 1/2 cup Sugar – Regular granulated sugar or coconut sugar
  • 2 tspns Pumpkin Spices
  • 3 tbspns Neutral Oil – Can be replaced with melted vegan butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 °F (180 °C). Oil generously two 12-hole mini muffin pans with cooking oil. This recipe makes about 16 donut holes, so you don't have to oil all of them.
  2. In a mixing bowl, stir oil, pumpkin puree, pumpkin spices, brown sugar, and self-rising flour until it forms a sticky muffin batter.
  3. Use a small cookie dough scoop to fill each muffin hole.
  4. Bake the donut holes for 13-15 minutes at 350 °F (180 °C) until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  5. Flip the pan upside down on a cooling rack and let them cool for a few minutes.
  6. Meanwhile, melt some coconut oil in a small mixing bowl in the microwave in 30-second bursts.
  7. In a small bowl, stir sugar and pumpkin spices.
  8. Use a pastry brush to brush each muffin donut hole and immediately roll it into the pumpkin spice sugar.
  9. Tips:
  10. Ensure your pumpkin puree is at room temperature before mixing for a smoother batter.
  11. For stronger pumpkin flavor, reduce the pumpkin puree by simmering it in a saucepan for about 5 minutes before using.
  12. Try a cream cheese glaze instead of sugar coating: mix softened vegan cream cheese with powdered sugar and a splash of plant-based milk.
  13. These donut holes freeze well. Make a double batch and store some for later. To reheat frozen donut holes, microwave for 10-15 seconds or warm in a low oven until heated through.
  14. To ensure even baking, rotate the pan halfway through the baking time, especially if your oven has hot spots.

What You’ll Need

5-10 Minutes

  • Donuts (whatever donuts you prefer)
  • Vampire Teeth (washed and cleaned)
  • Candy Googly Eyes

Instructions

  1. Place The Teeth First, take a pair of vampire teeth and pinch them closed. Push the back end into the donut’s hole so they can get nice and stuck. If you don’t get them in there well, they will pop out! This is why it’s important to make sure the teeth are closed before pushing them into the donut. Try to get them as far back into the hole as possible so they will stay put. Now open the teeth slightly, to give them an attack look. This is the most important step, so take your time and make sure they look good! Note we did notice the vampire teeth stayed nicely put on the glazed sprinkled donuts but the more cakey ones like the dusted powered flavors didn’t hold them as well. Experiment with different donut flavors to see which ones hold teeth best!
  2. Set The Eyes Add the candy eyes to the donut, the glaze should be enough to hold the eyes in place, but if not, add a tiny dot of gel frosting to hold them down. If using fresh donuts, be sure to add the eyes before the glaze sets, otherwise, they won’t stick. If it has already set, you can warm the donut to loosen the glaze. If you can’t find candy eyes, you can also use mini chocolate chips or white icing to create the eyes.
  3. Add Some Gel You can also add red gel frosting to the teeth to look like blood from a vampire bite. If you want to get creative, you can also add green gel to the donut holes to look like gross vampire boogers!
  4. If you’re not into the whole blood and gore thing, you can also leave the teeth white.

What You’ll Need

20 Pieces
10 Minutes

  • 2 cups white chocolate
  • 8 Oreo cookies
  • 1/4 cup mini candy eyeballs

Instructions

  1. Chop up the Oreo cookies and set aside. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. In a microwave safe bowl (or use a double boiler) melt the chocolate chips in the microwave in 30 second increments at 70% power, stirring in between until the chocolate is smooth and creamy. Place 1/4 cup of the chocolate into a Ziploc bag or piping bag, then stir in the chopped up cookies to the remainder.
  2. Pour the chocolate out on to the foil, using the back of a spoon to spread the chocolate out – thin and even. Place the chocolate in the fridge to harden for about 5 minutes. Remove chocolate, then drizzle the remaining white chocolate all over the bark, creating “mummy” lines. Place sets of eyeballs together all over the drizzled chocolate, pressing them in. Place the chocolate back into the fridge for 10 minutes, before removing and breaking into pieces, keeping the eyeball sets together.
  3. Chocolate bark should be stored in the fridge, for 4-5 days.
